    Happy Summer! As the year rolls on we’re going to be announcing more features from our upcoming Summer Alpha, and to whet your appetites, we’re going to be discussing the first of these today.

    ONCE MORE UNTO THE BREACH

    Zerging – aka, when a group of players forms into a giant mass and obliterates every unfortunate soul that comes into their path – is a common problem in MMOs. We’ve been developing several measures to discourage players from using this tactic, and the feature we’re here to talk about is just such a thing. Introducing: Hellgates.
    Hellgates are nether-dimensional portals that are dropped once you have found and defeated a so called gatekeeper demon. The portal will only be accessible to five players at a time – so as with all other aspects of life in Albion, make sure you pick your friends carefully. Gatekeepers will spawn at random places within Albion, depending on player numbers and activity. It will be up to players to sense the evil presence and find the demon before it pops out of existence and respawns at another place in the world.

    IF YOU CAN’T STAND THE HEAT…
    Once inside the hell dungeon, you will find yourself facing down Albion’s latest faction – the demonic hordes, who will understandably be less than happy with the unwelcome intrusion. If you manage to fight through the armies of darkness, you will be confronted with a boss demon. Defeating him will net you his souls, a brand-new resource which will be required for high-level equipment and weapons. At the end of each encounter, a gate will be provided back to the proper pastures of Albion. Don’t take too long, though; there is a set timer for how long any given group can stay in a hell dungeon.

    CLASH OF THE INTRUDERS
    Where does zerging come into it, you might ask? Well, each hell dungeon will have two separate gates, meaning two different groups of players will have a chance of ending up in the same hell. This means that in addition to the demonic horde, you must be prepared for the possibility of facing fellow humans in the netherworld, a situation that will give rise to some truly emergent twists while fostering an environment for more balanced 5-vs-5 PvP scenarios. Essentially, Hellgates will be PvE dungeons, but focused on fair PvP battles.

    Врата Ада – это порталы в подземелья, которые открываются после того, как игроки нашли и победили демона – хранителя врат. Портал будет доступен группам, численность которых не превышает пять человек, поэтому как и в случае с другими аспектами жизни в мире Albion Online, убедитесь, что вы отбираете своих друзей очень тщательно. Хранители врат будут появляться в случайно выбранных местах в зависимости от количества и активности игроков. Задачей игроков будет почувствовать присутствие злых сил и найти демона до того, как он перестанет существовать и появится в другой точке мира.
    ЕСЛИ ВЫ НЕ МОЖЕТЕ ВЫНЕСТИ ЖАРУ...
    Внутри адского подземелья игроки встретятся с новой фракцией Albion – ордами демонов, которые по понятным причинам будут не совсем рады незваным гостям. Если вашей группе удастся побороть армии воинов тьмы, вы столкнетесь с боссом-демоном. Победа над боссом подарит вам его души - новый ресурс, необходимый для получения экипировки высокого уровня. В конце каждого подземелья будут находиться врата, которые позволят игрокам вернуться обратно на земли Albion. Однако, вам стоит поторопиться: время для прохождения каждого подземелья строго ограничено.
    СТОЛКНОВЕНИЕ ЗАХВАТЧИКОВ
    При чем же здесь зерг? – спросите вы. У каждого подземелья будет два отдельных входа, что позволит двум разным группам игроков оказаться в одной и той же зоне ада. Это означает, что в добавок к ордам демонов вы должны быть готовы сразиться с другими игроками в аду. Подобная ситуация может вызвать захватывающие и непредвиденные повороты событий, а также создаст условия для сбалансированных PvP-сценариев для групп из пяти человек. По сути, Врата Ада будут являться PvE-подземельями, но будут сосредоточены на честных PvP-боях.

    The system is not explained very well in the article sorry for that. Here some additional information:
    • So Hellkeepers spawn regular distributed all over the world
    • There is also an algorithem which makes the second spawn not near the first one and so on.
    • So you have already a physical seperation
    • So if someone enters the first Hellgate he gets into a dungeon
    • If another group enters the second Hellgate he does not necessarily get into the same dungeon
    • There is a chance that you get into the same dungeon.

    So yes if Guild A is roaming the world with lots of 5er groups to get into the same Hellgate with two of the same groups, there is a probability they will be able to do that once in a while. But first it may not be the most effective way and even if then the hellgates have already helped split up the zerg a bit.

    The boss fight is not meant to be super challenging. It will not be super easy either.
    If two groups want to cooperate and share the reward fair enough.

    But why share if you have a good opportunity to kill the others while they are down from the boss fight [​IMG]

    Hellgates are always like "Red Areas".
    So no flags, Free for all PvP!

    So in the old tier system it is a T4 dungeon!

    Things to consider
    • In the future we can make different diffculties, we first want to get an overall feeling for it
    • It is primarily meant to be a PvP event where you fight with another group over the resources
    • The resources you get inside the hellgates are relevant for all tiers!
    • So yes the beginner group might run into the expert pvp group (at least its 5vs5 :D)

    As it stands right now.
    • Hellgates will spawn everywhere (so also in safe zones)
    • We want to draw in new players to PvP
    • There will be significantly less Hellgates in Safe zones so you can not primarily farm them from there only
    • At the beginning they will be connected with the hellgates in the other zones
    • since we first want to get a feeling for how many hellgates we need for which amount of players
    • But later on we might split the networks and there is a different hellgate network for safe and yellow and red zones
    All of this is not confirmed yet, we are constantly discussing and testing things. So everything can still change.

    The answer is yes and no.

    There will be Tier 8 weapons that need souls (as well as some Tier 4 weapons for instance)
    There will be Tier 8 weapons which just need the normal Tier 8 resources
    There will be Tier 8 weapons which need normal resources plus other special resources (Example a boss drop in the open world)

    There will be similar systems through all tiers (exception the first 2-3 tiers)

    We will tell you more about that in a dev blog in the future.

    Right now we have 2 options (both are implemented). A) You die and B) You get teleported back to from where you entered.

    Global Timer for the whole Dungeon! But there is a second timer which runs in the background which defines for how long other groups can enter. Examples:
    • Global Timer for a hellgate is 30 minutes
    • The boss will only spawn after 5 minutes
    • There are enough trash mobs which are occupieng your way and you can farm as well for Souls
    • Only the first 10 minutes another guild can appear
      • Meaning: That if within the first 10 minutes no other guild showed up you are safe for the rest
    • Yes these numbers need to be balanced!
    • Just an example that we have timers for everything [​IMG]

    Yes! The gate dissapears after a few minutes!

  13. Надеюсь они на этом тесте всех боссов починят и не будет бажных, а то выйдет босс, 1хиткилл = за хеллгейты никто воевать не будет.

    Говорят босса можно будет соло зафармить, сделано так на случай если 2 группы зашли, повоевали так, что осталось лишь одно тело без реса, и оно смогло соло зачистить данж.

    их не поймешь, то говорят о соло-убийстве босса и простоте пве-контента внутри данжа (соответствие т4-мобам по сложности, если правильно понял), тк упор сделан на пвп-стычки, то отвечают (на вопрос Gurgo о том, что не получится ли так, что люди будут чистить хеллгейты в соло и идея с 5х5 провалится), что два человека в высоком тире смогут проносить инстанс, а в т3 потребуются все пять.

    - Выйти из подземелья можно будет через врата, через которые вы вошли или через портал, который появится после убийства босса.
    - Выйти из подземелья будет можно, но зайти назад смогут лишь те 5 игроков, которые были в подземелье изначально. То есть поменять состав вы не сможете.
    - После убийства босса появится портал через, который вы сможете выйти. Варианты A и B рассматриваются в том случае, когда истек таймер (у игроков будет 30 минут, чтобы очистить подземелье).

    Хранителя Портала (монстр) видно на карте.
    Портал появляется после его смерти.
    Портал видно только 3 минуты.

    Hello, hello!

    Today we're bringing you our latest Feature Highlight video and this time we're showing you Hellgates! You can check out the trailer by going to its thread located HERE. If you stay in this thread then I will be going over the Hellgate feature in more detail to answer any questions you might have after seeing the trailer. Any comments on this feature can be posted in the main Hellgate thread that I linked just above. I won't be creating a community discussion thread for this news post as the main thread for this feature posted by nogare can be used instead :) Let’s begin by looking at the feature first though:

    A hell cluster is a dungeon which holds a total of 10 players. However, only a group of five players can enter the hell cluster together which means that there can be two groups of 5 players in each group inside a hell cluster. So how do you enter? To be able to enter the hell cluster you first need to travel around the world until you find a Gatekeeper. A vast majority of the Gatekeepers will be found in the Yellow & Red Skull PvP clusters but may on occasion appear in the safe clusters as well. However, this is on very rare occasions and is subject to change.

    Hellgate creation detailed:Currently, if you enter a cluster with a Gatekeeper present you will be notified in two ways. The first way is through the chat window notifying you that:

    By looking at the mini-map you will also be able to see the location of the Gatekeeper if there is one in the current cluster:

    Ideally you would want to engage this demon with a group of five but if you are strong enough there is nothing keeping you from trying it with a smaller group either. Upon slaying the demon a portal will open up leading you into hell:

    When this happens the system rolls the chance for this Hellgate to be connected to a matching hell cluster. If the result is to connect it to an existing hell cluster the system will then check if there are any matches and connect it to one. If no match is found or if the system rolls for this portal to open up a new hell cluster then that is precisely what will happen.

    Hellgate loot rules:
    • The Hellgate is locked to the group which dealt the most amount of damage to the Gatekeeper
    • Only players that are a part of that group is allowed to interact with it
    • Any other player who tries to interact with the Hellgate will get an overhead message saying "Hellgate protected"
    Hell cluster matching rules:
    • Hell clusters have exit slots for Hellgates to connect to
    • The maximum amount of Hellgates allowed to connect to a hell cluster is a variable we set up in the Game Data (example: HellgateLimit="2")
    Hellgates can connect to these exit slots unless:It is occupied by another Hellgate
    • The distance between the Hellgates are not long enough (Read "distance rule explained" below)
    • The dungeon boss has been killed
    • The Hellgate limit has been reached in the hell cluster
    • The hell cluster join time limit has been reached (A value definied in minutes that we set up in the Game Data)
    Distance rule explained:

    1. Hell cluster gets created from a Hellgate in cluster A. (The HellgateMininmumDistance is set to 2)
    2. Hell clusters created in B & C are not matchable since cluster A only has 1 cluster gate between them
    3. Hell cluster created in D & F are matchable with the Hellgate in cluster A since there are at least 2 cluster gates separating cluster A from D & F
    4. Any Hellgates created even further out would also be a valid Hellgate to connect to
    When players click the Hellgate to enter it if there is still room available (if it is full they are notified that “Hellgate is not stable and you are unable to enter”) they will begin a timer that once completed transports them into the hell cluster. Upon entering hell they will be force flagged to red as this is a PvP/PvE dungeon. Upon exiting a hell cluster the players will have a Hellgate Exit Buff which will give them increased run speed and invisibility for a while. This is too combat “gate camping”.

    Once inside both groups will start progressing through the dungeon, fighting against the demons that dwell there. At the end of the dungeon is the Demon Lord boss that holds valuable loot and is also the key to exiting hell. Only by killing him can you open up the portal to the surface. However, even before you reach the boss there is a possibility to engage the enemy group and fight to the death.

    This is the current layout of the Dungeon:

    Hell cluster time limit:
    • All hell clusters have a time limit
    • If the time limit is reached the players are teleported back out to the Hellgate that the players used to enter the hell cluster
    • The timer is visible in the UI for all players inside the hell cluster
    • In the chat there's a chat notification every 5 minutes and at the last minute.

    FAQ:


    Q: How often do the Gatekeepers spawn in the world?
    A: The Gatekeepers will spawn in waves for example every 30-120 minutes. The exact time is as of yet not decided but it will be in rapid intervals.

    Q: Won’t Hellgate camping be a problem?
    A: Right now we are not so worried about the Hellgates being camped too much. There is a high probability that no one will come back at all since they could have been killed by the enemy group. This means you could stand for 25-30 minutes in an area waiting in complete vain. Also upon exiting as previously mentioned the players will be invisible with faster run speed than normal for a while so hunting them down could prove very tricky.If the group inside the Hell cluster has the possibility to they could also send a scout to the exit and see if the coast is clear and if it is not they could send greater numbers to attack the gate campers. Don’t forget either that the Hellgate portal is only open for a very brief period of time so it’s not so easy for groups to roam around just in search of already opened portals.If it ends up being a problem there’s always solutions to this so for now we want to see how things play out in-game in the current iteration.

    Q: What exactly happens if I get killed by a player or a mob in the hell cluster?
    A: Unless someone in your group has the resurrection spell you will die and be teleported out and your remaining (if any) party members will have to pick up your stuff. If the Hellgate has closed by the time you died then there is no way back!

    Q: What if several ungrouped players are killing a gatekeeper. Who gets to enter the portal?
    A: In this case it will work the same as mob loot and the player who did the most damage will get to enter the portal.

    Q: What tier are the hell mobs at?
    A: As of right now they are tier IV and tuned for groups of 5 but this is possibly subject to change.

    The ultimate goal that we want to achieve with the Hellgate Feature is to bring in more incentive for the smaller groups in the game to get out there and roam around. Previously there hasn't been a reason for larger groups to split up into smaller ones but we hope that with the introduction of Hellgates we will see more small scale activity in the PvP areas where smaller groups will roam around demon hunting.

    I hope this has cleared things up for you guys at least a little and that you found this feature explanation readable. I’m still completely new to bringing you guys news so please let me know how I did and how I can improve. I will keep working hard on making the News Room better and better! Below you can find a short video that I made showcasing the different steps to take if you want to find and complete the Hell Dungeon.

    назад дороги нет после входа, выход только через получение ключа от босса
    право на вход получает группа, нанесшая наибольшее количество дамага
    из соседних (северный, южный, западный, восточный) кластеров невозможно попасть в тот же хеллгейт
    после выхода из хеллгейтов группа получает бафф невидимости
    срок существования хеллгейта после входа 25 минут, отображается на экране, по истечении выкидывает наружу
    как понял все игроки будут видеть хеллгейт даже после входа в него группы
    внутри мобы 4го тира
